Appeal Successfully Defended in a Lawsuit Against Landowner and Real Estate Agent

Jordan Herrick successfully defended an appeal to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals from a Dismissal Order entered by the Circuit Court of Kanawha County.

The plaintiffs appealed an Order dismissing a lawsuit filed against a landowner and a real estate agent in which the Circuit Court found the plaintiffs had abandoned all of their claims and the lawsuit was now moot.

West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals Ceremony

Bailey & Wyant's newest Associate, Andrew Herrick, was sworn in today before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

His brother and fellow Associate at Bailey & Wyant, Jordan Herrick, moved the Court for his admission.

Andrew was also sworn in by the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

He is now licensed to practice before all West Virginia State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

American Chiropractic Association Fall Conference Presentation

Managing Member Charles R. Bailey gave a presentation on the PPACA/Obamacare at the American Chiropractic Association’s Fall Conference.

Mr. Bailey informed attendees about  the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the effect of insurance reimbursement procedures for chiropractors and how the Affordable Health Care Act will affect their practice.

Employment Law Perspective Presentation at Affordable Care Act Workshop

David E. Schumacher was part of a panel of four speakers that provided a  presentation at various locations throughout West Virginia at the request of the County Commissioners’ Association of West Virginia for its Affordable Care Act Workshops during October.

Mr. Schumacher educated attendees on the PPACA/Obamacare from the employment law and employer’s perspective and how to prepare and respond to a  United States Department of Labor Audit.
