University of Charleston Leadership Luncheon

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC was proud to sponsor a luncheon for the University of Charleston School of Business, Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) Program.

Over 80 students and faculty gathered at the Equities House in downtown Charleston for a day full of doctoral level coursework. Bailey & Wyant, PLLC provided two excellent speakers for the doctoral students to learn from, as they enjoyed a catered lunch from Swiftwater Café.

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Managing Partner Charles R. Bailey and Associate Michael Taylor presented at a continuing education seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute.

The seminar, “Local Government Law: What Attorneys Need to Know” focused on aiding attorneys in gaining a better understanding of Municipal Liability Issues. The basic to intermediate level seminar was designed for attorneys and government officials who wanted tips and strategies for overcoming challenges in municipal law.

Managing Member, Charles Bailey named 2017 Defense Attorney of the Year

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC is pleased to announce our Managing Member, Charles Bailey has been named 2017 Defense Attorney of the Year by the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia (DTCWV).  
 
DTCWV Defense Attorney of the Year is a prestigious award which begins with a nomination, and is then vetted through a review process by the DTCWV nomination committee.

Bailey & Wyant granted complete dismissal for Sodexo, Inc.

Shareholder of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC, Justin C. Taylor was recently granted a complete dismissal on behalf of his clients Sodexo, Inc. and Chad Plymale, in a case pending in Kanawha County before the Mass Litigation Panel. This case involved alleged exposure to asbestos during a ceiling tile removal project at Alderson Broaddus University. Eleven plaintiff employees of Sodexo took part in a ceiling tile removal project in the winter of 2012, whereby they were allegedly exposed to ceiling tiles containing Amosite asbestos.

Bailey & Wyant Partner Named as 2017 Fellow

Bailey & Wyant, is pleased to announce Suleiman Oko-ogua has been named as a 2017 fellow to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). Oko-ogua is one of only two LCLD fellows in the state of West Virginia. Founded in 2009, the LCLD is made up of more than 265 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners, working together to build a more open and diverse legal profession.
